SKB and Posiva tested the LVDT-cell
Finnish nuclear waste management company Posiva Ltd and Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management Company SKB tested the LVDT-cell technique in their underground laboratories in ONKALO and Äspö at depths over -400 m in thorough testing campaign. Companies concluded that the state of stress established using the LVDT-cell was in agreement with the state of stress established previously using traditional overcoring and hydraulic fracturing methods.
