Project references

During the years 2009-2016 in situ stress measurements have been carried out in over twenty locations to evaluate the usability of the new stress measurement technique. The thorough testing ensures fast and reliable rock stress measurements.

The LVDT cell has been used in following places in Finland and Sweden

  • Hydropower project in Tosbotn Fjord, Norway, Helgeland Kraft AS. In three locations in 2016.
  • Pisara railway line – Hakaniemi station, Liikennevirasto. Two measurements at depth of 15 m in 2015.
  • Kemi Mine, Outokumpu Chrome Oy. Measurement at depth of 860 m in 2015.
  • Kylylahti Mine, Boliden Kylylahti Oy. Measurement at depth of 650 m in 2015.
  • Hendriksdalen water plant extension, Sweco Civil AB. Two measurements at 45 m depth in 2015.
  • Kemi Mine, Outokumpu Chrome Oy. Two measurements with overcoring at depth of 400 m in 2014.
  • Malmberget Mine, LKAB Plc. Measurement with double sidecoring at depth of 1054 m in 2014.
  • Pyhäsalmi Mine, Oulu Southern Institute. Two measurements with double sidecoring at depth of 1430 m for Laguna-project  in 2013.
  • Kylylahti Mine, Altona Mining Ltd. Measurement at depth of 400 m in 2013.
  • Underground Characterization Facility for nuclear waste disposal site, Posiva Oy. Several measurements at depths of 160-420 m1
  • Äspö Hard Rock Laboratory, Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management Co. Two measurements at depth of 440 m1

Hydraulic fracturing stress measurements has been conducted for following projects
