DDP36 Probe
“The Mini probe“
New 2D in situ rock stress measurement tool
The DDP36 Probe offers a cutting-edge solution for measuring in situ rock stress using a reliable, two-dimensional overcoring method by recording deformations released around a circular installation hole. It builds upon the principles of the renowned USBM gauge, offering additional features for improved precision and ease of use.
The DDP36 probe was born as an alternative to Hydraulic Fracturing, improving times, cost and reliability of the process, as well as an alternative to strain gauge soft cells that require gluing and long waiting periods.
- Designed to measure horizontal principal stress magnitudes and orientations in nearly vertical boreholes.
- Quick operation.
- In combination with wire-line system, the DDP36 probe provides a fast and synergistic process between drilling, installation, measurement, overcoring and retrieval.
- Measures four diametric convergences with eight sensors.
- Monitors temperature of overcored rock cylinder.
- Self-orientated; 3D -gyro, -accelerometer & –magnetometer.
- Mechanical mounting, no glue required.
- Elastic parameters of the rock are obtained immediately after the measurement via biaxial testing.
- The in situ stress state can be accurately back-calculated once obtained the elastic
parameters.
- Accuracy: Precise data collection ensured by pin measurement accuracy and repeatability better than 2 μm..
- Highly tested…
- In the laboratory testing in aluminum and granite blocks.
- In the field tested on depths up to 500m.
